Our Approach

Montessori

Logos Christian School Kindergarten offers the Montessori approach to teaching and learning

Why Montessori? Montessori involves children’s natural interests and activities. It emphasizes hands-on learning and developing real-world skills.  It emphasizes independence and it views children as naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning in a sufficiently supportive and well-prepared learning environment.

Montessori focuses more on the children learning self-discipline the natural way. It gives them freedom and support to question, Probe deeply, and make connections to what they are learning. Montessori enables the learners to think critically, work collaboratively, and act boldly

We emphasize active learning which includes:

  • Each child is valued as a unique individual and an image bearer of God
  • Montessori nurtures order, concentration, and independence.
  • Learners are part of a close, caring community.
  • Learners are supported in becoming active seekers of knowledge.
  • Self-correction and self-assessment are an integral part of the Montessori classroom approach.
  • Montessori supports social-emotional skills.

Our Montessori classroom management involves establishing clear guidelines and expectations, observing individual progress closely, fostering independence, and collaborating with parents.

At the level of preprimary 1&2, just like in CBC, we emphasize on the following competencies: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
